VRE X FredNats: Fireworks, Baseball, and Community

Fredericksburg riders, if you haven’t made it out to catch a Fredericksburg Nationals game yet this season, maybe our ongoing partnership with the team will give you the perfect reason to go! If you attend one of the six remaining May games, you’ll spot VRE graphics around the stadium and find information and keepsakes at the information booth. 

This past April, we celebrated our first-ever partnership with the FredNats and the Fredericksburg community through our sponsored Fireworks Night. It was a special opportunity to connect directly with the communities we serve, with a VRE booth set up right on the concourse. Throughout the evening, we raffled off special VRE swag, gave new riders the chance to hop aboard with free ride credits, and most importantly, spoke with riders and families from across the region. 

We had the chance to speak with dozens of families, some who ride with us regularly, some who had only ridden once or twice, and others who vaguely knew of a train station nearby. Hearing feedback from people across every stage of familiarity with our service—from “we love riding VRE” to “wait, remind us of what VRE is again?”—gave us valuable insight as we continue working to expand our reach and better serve our communities.
